BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Senior Hope Harris and juniors Presley Dickson and Lauren Reibe have been named Captains of the 2011 Birmingham-Southern volleyball team, Head Coach Judy Green announced this week.

Harris is an outside/right side hitter from San Antonio, Texas, who has been an integral part of the program since coming to the Hilltop in 2008. Through the end of last season, she appeared in 85 matches with 687 kills (2.29/set), 747 digs (2.49/set), and 77 blocks.

Dickson is a libero/defensive specialist from Huntsville, Ala. In her first two seasons as a Panther, she played in 69 matches and amassed 538 digs (2.25/set) as well as 84 service aces.

Reibe, a setter from Daphne, Ala., stepped into the starting role this season after seeing limited action as a freshman and sophomore. She appeared in 52 matches in her first two seasons, with 206 assists, 138 digs, and 35 service aces.

"I feel like our team will be in good hands this season under the leadership of Hope, Presley and Lauren," Green said. "They certainly are selfless, team-first teammates and people, and I think that makes for very strong leaders."

The Panthers are in action this weekend at Sewanee, opening SCAC play, and return home next weekend to host the SCAC East Divisional, Saturday and Sunday in Bill Battle Coliseum.
