BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team wrapped up its conference weekend with a 3-0 win against Oglethorpe University today in Bill Battle Coliseum.

BSC won by the scores of 25-10, 25-15, and 25-12. The Panthers now stand at 9-12 on the season.

Junior middle blocker Shelby Moore posted a record-breaking performance, recording 16 kills in 20 attempts with no errors for an .800 attack percentage, which breaks an 11-year-old single-match record.

BSC dominated play in the first two sets, pulling ahead quickly with the Petrels never threatening to catch up. In the third set, the teams stayed close, playing to a 6-6 tie before BSC started to pull ahead to clinch the match.

Junior setter Lauren Reibe recorded 29 assists, and sophomore outside hitter Alex Bothe led with 11 digs.

"I think after this weekend we definitely have grown as a team," Head Coach Judy Green said. "We were very effective from the service line this weekend, and that kept teams from doing what they wanted to do. Our goal next week is to get better, improve again. I'm very proud of our team, and very proud that everyone got to contribute this weekend, which was fun."

The Panthers are at home again this Wednesday, Oct. 5, taking on Covenant College at 7 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
