BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team lost at home to Faulkner University, 3-0, in Bill Battle Coliseum Thursday evening.
BSC lost by the scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-19, falling to 12-15 on the season. The Eagles move to 17-12 with the win.
The Panthers were playing without Head Coach Judy Green as well as starting setter Lauren Reibe, who were both out of town due to family emergencies.
BSC led to open the first set, and the score stayed close until the 16-16 point, after which Faulkner began to pull away, eventually winning 25-21.
In the second set, the Eagles pulled out to a 10-4 lead before the Panthers scored six straight to tie it up 10-10. Faulkner turned around and out-scored BSC 15-4, though, to win the set 25-14.
The Eagles opened the third set with a 6-0 lead and never trailed, eventually winning 25-19.
The Panthers are on the road this weekend, traveling to face Shorter University in Rome, Ga., on Saturday at noon Eastern.
