ROME, Ga.—Five members of the Birmingham-Southern volleyball team earned All-Southern Athletic Association honors, it was announced yesterday at the SAA Championship at Berry College in Rome, Ga.
Seniors Shelby Moore and Lauren Reibe were voted to the All-SAA First Team, senior Presley Dickson and junior Alex Bothe were named Second-Team All-Conference, and sophomore Katie O'Bar was named to the Honorable Mention Team.
Moore, a middle blocker from Baton Rouge, La., leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference in kills per set (2.95), and is also fifth in the SAA with a .317 hitting percentage. She ranks sixth in total kills (286), and seventh with 3.4 points per set.
Reibe, a setter from Daphne, Ala., is second in the SAA in total assists (909) and assists per set (8.91).
Dickson, a libero from Huntsville, Ala., ranks third in the league with 4.30 digs per set and fourth in total digs with 417. She is also seventh with 31 service aces and ninth with 0.32 aces per set.
Bothe, an outside hitter from Seguin, Texas, is eighth in the SAA with 241 kills despite being sidelined for several games recently with an ankle injury.
O'Bar, a middle blocker from Germantown, Tenn., ranks fourth in the league with 20 solo blocks and is seventh with 0.77 blocks per set and ninth with 67 total blocks. She recently broke BSC's single-match record for blocks in four sets with 16 against Bridgewater State on Oct. 26.
