Three Panthers earn Volleyball All-Conference honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Senior Alex Bothe earned First-Team All-Southern Athletic Association volleyball honors and two other Panthers were named to the Honorable Mention team as voted by the league's head coaches and announced today at the SAA Championship in Rome, Ga.

Junior right side Kathleen Pfitzer and sophomore libero Lauren Bedford joined Bothe on the All-Conference team, earning Honorable Mention honors.

Bothe, an outside hitter from Seguin, Texas, got her name in the BSC record book this season as she became the fourth player in program history to surpass the 1,000 kill and 1,000 dig marks. Heading into tonight's conference tournament match against Millsaps, Bothe is averaging 2.77 kills, 3.26 digs, and 3.3 points per set.

Pfitzer (Birmingham, Ala.) averaged 2.05 kills per set while hitting .216, and Bedford (Trussville, Ala.) anchored the defense with 4.91 digs per set, ranking her second in the SAA.

The Panthers are playing in this weekend's SAA Championship, hosted by Berry, as the fifth seed and will face fourth-seeded Millsaps tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern.
