BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—In the final home and conference match of the season, the Birmingham-Southern volleyball team swept Oglethorpe, 3-0, in Bill Battle Coliseum for Senior Day.
The Panthers moved to 20-10 overall and finished with a 10-4 mark in the Southern Athletic Association. The Stormy Petrels fell to 15-15 overall and 3-10 in the SAA, and will face Millsaps tomorrow to wrap up their conference schedule.
BSC won today by the scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-15. Sophomore Lynsie Byrd recorded her 15th double-double of the year with a match-high 11 kills and 19 digs, and O'Bar added 10 kills and three blocks while hitting .529. Junior setter Katie McCormack posted 41 assists, and junior libero Lauren Bedford led all players with 29 digs. Lee was also in double-digits with 20 digs.
The Panthers travel to Memphis, Tenn., next Saturday, Nov. 1, to face Agnes Scott College at 2 p.m. and Rust College at 4 p.m. at Rhodes College.
