  • Panthers Earn AVCA Team Academic Award

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team was one of 150 NCAA Division III programs recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for high academic achievement. The Panthers earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for their 2016 season.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern athletics department announced the winners of its big awards and recognized the accomplishments of the student-athletes at its 2017 Athletic Awards Dinner Monday night in the Norton Great Hall on BSC’s campus.
  • O’Quinn Named New Head Volleyball Coach

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern Director of Athletics Kyndall Waters has named Haven O’Quinn the new head women’s volleyball coach. O’Quinn is the former head coach of the 7A state champion Mountain Brook High School squad. She will take over the program on June 1.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Kaitlin Hogan (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) of women’s basketball was named Birmingham-Southern/Piggly Wiggly student-athlete of the week for play December 12-18.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Senior Laura Van Peursem (Huntsville, Ala./Randolph School) is a hardworking, determined, and goal-oriented individual. She is a two-sport student-athlete at Birmingham-Southern College while majoring in biology with a psychology minor. A four-year starter and three-time all-conference volleyball player, Van Peursem is also a four-year starter and all-conference basketball player.
  • SAA Announces Fall All-Sportsmanship Teams

    ATLANTA - The SAA announced the 2016 Fall Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 55 student-athletes among the league's eight full-time members and three affiliate members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play amongst all competitors.
  • SAA Tournament: Panthers fall 3-1 in Semis

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team ended its run for a Southern Athletic Association championship in a 3-1 semifinal loss to Berry College Saturday. Berry moves on to face No. 25 Hendrix in the title match. Senior Laura Van Peursem (Huntsville, Ala./The Randolph School) was named to the all-tournament team for her play.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team saw all six starters named to Southern Athletic Association All-Conference teams, the league announced Friday. This is the most selections for the Panthers since 2014.
  • SAA Tournament: Panthers Advance to Semis with Sweep

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday night with a 3-0 win over Oglethorpe University. The victory marked the third time this season BSC has swept the Stormy Petrels. They improved to 22-6 overall with the win.
  • SAA Tournament: Volleyball Seeded Second

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Finishing the regular season 21-6 with an 11-3 Southern Athletic Association record, the Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team heads into the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Panthers will take on seventh seeded Oglethorpe University in the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m.
  • Panthers Split Day Two of Texas Classic

    SEGUIN, Texas – The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team split competition in day two of the Texas Lutheran Bulldog Classic Saturday. The Panthers defeated Sul Ross State 3-0 before falling to East Texas Baptist University 3-2 in the finale. BSC closes the regular season at 21-6 overall.
  • Volleyball Starts Texas Classic 2-0 After Comeback

    SEGUIN, Texas – With two wins in day one of the Texas Lutheran Bulldog Classic, the Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team improved to 20-5 overall, marking the Panthers fourth consecutive 20-win season. BSC defeated Concordia Texas 3-0 before battling it out with host Texas Lutheran to a 3-2 victory.
  • Panthers Fall 3-1 on Road at Berry

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team suffered only its third Southern Athletic Association loss of the season this afternoon at Berry College. The Panthers fell 3-1 to close the regular season at 18-5 overall, 11-3 in league.
  • Volleyball Sweeps Oglethorpe 3-0 on Road

    ATLANTA, Ga. – Everyone played and everyone scored for the Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team Saturday as the Panthers swept Oglethorpe University 3-0 in Dorough Field House. BSC improved to 18-4 overall, 11-2 in Southern Athletic Association play.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College Hall of Fame class of 2016 was inducted Friday night. Frank “Buddy” Cairns (deceased), Rachel Malmborg Skweres, Joe Nasco, John Quinn, and Joe Thigpen join the long list of Panthers immortalized in the hall.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team closed out its home season with a Southern Athletic Association win Wednesday night. The Panthers took down Millsaps College 3-1 in Bill Battle Coliseum to improve to 17-4 overall, 10-2 in conference.
  • Panthers Sweep Centre 3-0 on Senior Day

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team defeated Centre College 3-0 on Sunday afternoon to improve to 16-4 overall, 9-2 in Southern Athletic Association play. The Panthers hit .343 as a team in the final set to secure the win on their senior day.
  • Volleyball Rallies in Third, Sweeps Sewanee 3-0

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team rallied back in the third set to defeat Sewanee 3-0 and improve to 8-2 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Panthers, who are now 15-4 overall, have swept opponents 11 times this season, six within the SAA.

    CONWAY, Ark. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team fell 3-0 Sunday afternoon at No. 20 Hendrix College in their ninth Southern Athletic Association match of the season. The Panthers moved to 14-4 overall, 7-2 in SAA action.
  • Panthers Earn 10th Sweep, White’s 100th Victory

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team recorded its 10th sweep of the season in the Panthers 3-0 Southern Athletic Association road win over Rhodes College Saturday afternoon. The win marked the 100th career victory for Head Coach Jeff White. He now has a 100-49 record at Birmingham-Southern for a 0.671 winning percentage.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman libero Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) of the Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team was named Southern Athletic Association Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
  • Volleyball sweeps Oglethorpe 3-0, Improves to 13-3 Overall

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team swept Oglethorpe University 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum. The Panthers improved to 13-3 overall, 6-1 in Southern Athletic Association play. Oglethorpe dropped to 7-9, 1-6 SAA with the loss.
  • Panthers Improve to 5-1 in League With Win Over Berry

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team held off Berry College Saturday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum to improve to 12-3 overall and 5-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Panthers won 3-1 as Berry dropped to 12-5, 5-2 SAA with the loss.
  • Volleyball Sweeps Rhodes 3-0 in Conference Match

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team moved to 4-1 in Southern Athletic Association play Sunday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum with a 3-0 sweep over Rhodes College. BSC, who improved to 11-3 overall, hit .386 as a team.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team hosted two ranked teams in Bill Battel Coliseum Saturday. The Panthers battled tough but fell 3-0 to No. 20 Hendrix College and No. 8 Emory University to move to 10-3 overall on the year, and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play.

    JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team improved to 3-0 in Southern Athletic Association play, 10-1 overall, with its 3-0 win at Millsaps College Wednesday night. Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) finished with a game-high 10 kills, hitting .350.
  • Volleyball Dominates Centre in 3-0 Win

    DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern College women’s volleyball team improved to 9-1, 2-0 in Southern Athletic Association play Sunday with a 3-0 win over Centre College. The Panthers hit .355 as a team in the first set. The win is their third straight sweep.
  • Volleyball Opens Conference Play with 3-0 Win

    SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team opened Southern Athletic Association play with a 3-0 win at Sewanee Saturday. It was a team effort for the Panthers who improved to 8-1 overall, 1-0 in the SAA. They hit .216 as a team and earned nine blocks.
