BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team closed out day one of the Emory Invitation with a 3-0 sweep of Saint Mary's Friday night. The match lasted just over an hour with BSC (2-0) outhitting and out blocking the Belles who dropped to 0-2 on the year.
Junior Rylee Segrest (Anniston, Ala./The Donoho School) picked up her first double-double of the season. She led the team with 15 assists and earned 10 digs.
Freshman Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) finished with a team-high 16 digs. And sophomore Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) and freshman Ashley Dodson (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon HS) tied for the team-high of eight kills.
Birmingham-Southern continues play tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. ET against Saint Benedict, before taking on Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 1:30 p.m. ET.
