Volleyball Opens Conference Play with 3-0 Win

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team opened Southern Athletic Association play with a 3-0 win at Sewanee Saturday.  It was a team effort for the Panthers who improved to 8-1 overall, 1-0 in the SAA.  They hit .216 as a team and earned nine blocks.

 

Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) led the team in kills.  Rachel Lee (Montgomery, Ala./The Montgomery Academy) earned a game-high 17 assists, and Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) picked up a game-high 15 digs.

 

BSC continues SAA play on the road this Sunday, Sept. 18.  They travel to Danville, Ky. to face Centre College noon ET.
