Volleyball Earns 3-0 Sweep of Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team improved to 3-0 in Southern Athletic Association play, 10-1 overall, with its 3-0 win at Millsaps College Wednesday night. Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) finished with a game-high 10 kills, hitting .350.

 

Setters Rachel Lee (Montgomery, Ala./The Montgomery Academy) and Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) earned 17 and 12 assists, respectively.  And Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) finished with a game-high 16 digs.

 

The Panthers didn't allow Millsaps to earn more than 17 points per set, winning 25-17, 25-17, 25-17.  They outhit and outblocked the Majors en route to their fourth straight sweep.


BSC returns home on Saturday, Sept. 24 in a tri-match against No. 20 Hendrix and No. 8 Emory.  The Panthers open at 11 a.m. against Hendrix and face Emory at 4 p.m.
