BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman libero Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) of the Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team was named Southern Athletic Association Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the first conference nod of her career.
Johnson helped the Panthers to a 2-0 week with wins over conference rivals Berry College and Oglethorpe University. She averaged 27.5 digs per match with a season-best nine digs per set in the 3-0 sweep of Oglethorpe.
Currently leading the league in digs per set, Johnson is also the conference leader in total digs when facing SAA opponents and ranked second overall.
