O’Quinn Named New Head Volleyball Coach

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern Director of Athletics Kyndall Waters has named Haven O'Quinn the new head women's volleyball coach.  O'Quinn is the former head coach of the 7A state champion Mountain Brook High School squad. She will take over the program on June 1.

"I'm thrilled that Haven has agreed to lead our program at BSC," said Waters.  "She represents the best combination of skill developer, motivator, and competitor that I've seen in the most successful coaches."

O'Quinn led the Spartans to three consecutive 7A state championships with an overall record of 223-50 at Mountain Brook.  She was the 2016 AL.com State Coach of the Year, 2015 NFHS State Coach of the Year, and a three-time recipient of the Over the Mountain Journal Coach of the Year award.

Her coaching experience extends over 10 years. She graduated from Troy University, where she played for four years and currently is top five in several individual and career record categories.

"I cannot wait to see the development of our program in the coming years under her guidance," added Waters.  "On behalf of President Flaherty-Goldsmith and the entire BSC community, we'd like to welcome Haven O'Quinn to The Hilltop."
