BSC Goes 2-0 in Day One of Emory Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team went 2-0 in day one at the Emory Invitational Friday afternoon.  The Panthers downed Washington & Lee 3-1 before taking Webster University in straight sets, 3-0.  BSC (17-7) has gone 3-2 at neutral sites this season.


Emmy Kilgore (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) led all attackers with 27 kills with Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) finishing right behind her at 24, respectively.


Rachel Lee (Montgomery, Ala./The Montgomery Academy) averaged over 40 assists per match, and Melaina Hissam (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) picked up a team-high 38 digs on the day.


Kilgore earned a double-double in the opener against W&L.  She had a match-high 18 kills and earned picked up 12 digs.  It was her second double-double of the season.


The Panthers close out the Invite and the regular season tomorrow when they face Randolph-Macon College at 12:30 p.m. ET.
