BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team rebounded from dropping set one against Maryville College to sweep the next three sets for its 3-1 win in Bill Battle Coliseum. The Panthers (12-5) outscored Maryville 76-51 in their final non-conference home match of the season.
Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) and Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) picked up double-doubles. Ray finished with 10 kills and 19 digs. Dailey earned a match-high 34 assists and 12 digs.
Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) led with a match-high 17 kills, hitting .343. Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) also earned double-digit kills with 13 of her own, respectively. And Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) led five Panthers in double-digit digs with a match-high 24.
The Panthers hit the road for the next two weeks on a trip around the Southern Athletic Association. They start in Arkansas at Hendrix College on Saturday, and then head to Memphis to face-off against Rhodes College on Sunday. Both matches are set to start at noon.
