BSC Upsets No. 16 Berry in 3-0 Sweep

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team pulled off the upset of the season when they handed No. 16 Berry College its first Southern Athletic Association loss in a 3-0 sweep Saturday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum.  The Panthers (19-5) secured second place in the league with the win and close conference play with a 12-2 record.

It was a team effort for the Panthers offensively and defensively as they finished with a better hitting percentage and more blocks than the Vikings.  Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) earned a match-high 32 assists.  Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) led the team with 14 kills.  And Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) picked up a team-high 13 digs.

The Panthers close out the regular season at the Emory National Invitational October 26-27. BSC will face No. 5 Thomas More and host No. 8 Emory during the weekend.
