Johnson Named SAA Defensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – After helping the Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team to an undefeated opening weekend, senior Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) was named Southern Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week.

Johnson led BSC to a perfect 4-0 record last week. The senior libero had 67 digs in 11 sets. She averaged over six digs per set and had no reception errors. Against St. Catherine, Johnson finished with 32 digs in four sets. She then posted five digs against Covenant while stopping 14 attacks against LaGrange. Finally, she finished with 16 digs in three sets in a victory against Brevard.
