MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The Birmingham-Southern cross country teams traveled to Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday to run in the Memphis Twilight Invitational.
Senior Mary Elaine Williamson was the Panthers' top finisher on the women's side, placin 43rd in a field of 208 runners with a 5K season best time of 18:56.03. Senior Emily Moore also placed 108th with a time of 20:13.86 and senior Caitlin Hodges was 113th with a time of 20:22.95.
On the men's side, sophomore Robert Willett finished 54th out of 202 runners with an 8K season best time of 25:48.40, followed by freshman Trent Blumenthal at 78th (26:24.93) and senior Will Gurley at 99th (26:51.12).
"Both our men's and women's teams performed well tonight," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "It was a big time meet on a fast course and they all stepped up and competed. I am proud of each and every one of them."
