SEWANEE, Tenn.—Senior Mary Elaine Williamson won the women's portion of the Tiger Twilight Cross Country Invitational this weekend with a 6K time of 23:27.85, while sophomore Robert Willett placed second on the men's side with an 8K time of 26:47.44.
Overall the Panthers had three top-15 women's finishers and four top-15 men's finishers.
Senior Caitlin Hodges placed ninth with a time of 24:22.88 and junior Emily Moore was 13th with a time of 25:31.24. The Panther women finished fourth overall.
For the men, freshman Trent Blumenthal came in seventh with a time of 28:00.38, senior Will Gurley was 13th with a time of 29:02.59, and senior Reed Kramer was 15th with a time of 29:11.22. The men placed third overall.
"We had some men and women really step up today and race with a lot of heart," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "It was a tough course but one that came at a good time for our teams."
The teams are back in action next weekend in the Southeast Showdown in Hoover.
