Cross Country finishes strong at Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial

The Panther women's cross country team placed third at the 2013 Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial hosted by UAH.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women placed third and the men were fourth at the UAH Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial Cross Country Invitational, Saturday morning at Sharon Johnston Park in New Market, Ala.

In the men's 8K, freshman Chris Roberts was the top finisher, placing ninth among non-Division I runners and 12th among all runners with a time of 27:00.9. On the women's side, sophomore Kelsey Holdbrooks ran the 5K in 20:03.7 to place 19th overall and ninth among non-DI schools.

"Our men and women raced well today and it was a great meet all around," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "This was another positive race for our runners and they continue to improve each week."

BSC is back in action in two weeks at the Rhodes Invitational, Sept. 28 in Memphis, Tenn.
