Women's Cross Country ranked ninth in regional rankings
The Panther women's cross country team placed third at the 2013 Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial hosted by UAH.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern cross country team has entered the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings at ninth, it was announced today.

The Panthers are ninth in the South/Southeast Region. Trinity (Texas) leads the rankings, followed by Emory, defending Southern Athletic Association champion Centre at third, Bridgewater (Va.), Christopher Newport, Mary Washington at sixth, Rhodes, and Washington & Lee. Eastern Mennonite rounds out the top 10 after BSC.

BSC recently placed third at the Berry Invitational, trailing only Georgia and Georgia Tech and finishing top among non-Division I programs.

"This ranking is a direct reflection on the hard work and dedication of our entire program," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "Everyone continues to take ownership for their role and share in the goals we set last year! There is still much work to be done and we will continue to remain focused each day."

The Panthers are back in action on Nov. 2 at the SAA Championship, hosted by Berry College in Rome, Ga.
