Men third, women fifth at SAA Cross Country Championship

DANVILLE, Ky.—The Birmingham-Southern men finished third and the women were fifth Saturday at the Southern Athletic Association Cross Country Championship, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Ky.

Junior Chris Roberts was the top BSC finisher, coming in fourth on the men's side and earning First-Team All-Conference honors. He ran the 8K course in 26:58.91. Junior Jarrett Mason landed a spot on the Honorable Mention All-SAA team after placing 12th with a time of 27:15.56.

For the women, sophomore Morgan Reynolds was the top finisher at 20th with a 6K time of 25:00.90.

Rhodes won both the team titles, the first for each program. Centre runners won the individual crowns: Serena Gale-Butto on the women's side with a time of 22:29.90, and Victor Pataky for the men with a time of 26:13.06.

BSC will learn its post-season fate next week, when the fields for the upcoming NCAA South/Southeast Regional is announced. The regional will take place Nov. 14 at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.
