DICKSON, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's finished eighth at the Southern Athletic Association Preview at the Greystone Golf Club on Sunday.
The Panthers shot a two-round score of 603, shooting 301 in round one and 302 in the final round of the tournament.
Senior Thomas Iturbe (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright HS) was BSC's top golfer on Sunday, finishing tied for 14th. Iturbe shot rounds of 72 and 73 to finish one-over par.
Sophomore Sammy Brucker (Franklin, Tenn./Furman) also finished inside the top 20 at tied for 16th. Brucker ended the day at two-over par with rounds of 72 and 74.
Birmingham-Southern played a B-team in the tournament, as well, which tied for 10th place at 40-over. Sophomore Preston Cox (Frisco, Texas/Southern Arkansas) was the top golfer from the B-team, tying for 35th at seven-over par. Cox shot 73 and 78 in his two rounds of play.
The Panthers will travel to Tunica, Miss., for the Rhodes Fall Classic at Tunica National on Sept. 21-23.
