
CLINTON, Miss. – Both the Birmingham-Southern men's and women's cross country teams earned fifth place out of all non-Division I programs at the Watson Ford Invitational Friday evening. Chris Roberts (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) and Elise Pittman (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) finished top five in their respective races.
Roberts had the third fastest 8K time on the day at 26:03.97. Pittman finished fifth out of the 81 non-Division I 6K runners with a time of 24:17.23, the sixth fastest at the Invite.
Timothy McOmber (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Catholic Prep School) crossed in 27:18.94, the 14th fastest time on the men's side.
And Lauren Krzystowczyk (Franklin, Tenn./Independence HS) also finished top 20 on the day. She crossed in 16th place with a time of 25:01.37, a new personal record.
The Panthers head to Berry, Ga. next for the Berry Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.
