
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team opened Southern Athletic Association play Saturday by winning two of its three games over Centre College. BSC (6-3, 2-1 SAA) won the first two games (11-1, 4-2) before falling in the triple header finale (8-6) on a rainy evening.
Kolyn Kyser (Springville, Ala./Springville HS) dominated offensively for the Panthers. She hit .833 with two doubles, a home run, and seven RBI on the day. Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) remained undefeated on the mound, picking up two wins. The lefty finished with a 0.88 ERA after eight innings of work.
The Panthers remain at home for the next contest. They host Louisiana College on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
