ATLANTA – Nine Birmingham-Southern women's swimming and diving student-athletes were named All-Southern Athletic Association on Tuesday, the conference announced.
Of the nine Panthers selected All-SAA, six were tabbed on the First Team. SAA Women's Swimmer of the Year Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) was picked for the team, along with freshman Savannah Barber (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northside Christian HS), junior Chelsea Chamblee (Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS), freshman Kasey Godwin (Jefferson City, Tenn./Jefferson County HS), freshman Mary Beth Ronne (Athens, Tenn./McMinn County HS) and freshman Rachel Sullivan (Cumming, Ga./North Forsyth HS).
Another freshman, Maddie Hosick (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West HS), was named to the Second Team, while junior Kayla Canon (Arnold, Md./Blue Springs South HS) and senior Katie Kassis (Mableton, Ga./Whitefield Academy) earned Honorable Mentions.
All-SAA selections are determined by the student-athletes best finish in individual championship final events. First-place finishers are awarded a spot on the First Team while second- and third-place finishers are placed on the Second and Third Teams, respectively.
