BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Senior Elizabeth Bromirski has been named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Bromirski, a guard from Somerville, Ala., led the Panthers in both of their road wins this week, scoring a career-high 29 points against Berry on Friday and then 17 points against Oglethorpe on Sunday. She also pulled down 14 total rebounds (6 against Berry, 8 against Oglethorpe), and recorded six assists, two steals, and a block. For the week, Bromirski averaged 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal, and 0.5 blocks while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 77.8 percent at the free throw line. Her outstanding play catapulted BSC into fourth place in the league standings.
The Panthers are on the road again this weekend, traveling to face Hendrix on Conway, Ark., on Friday, and then Rhodes in Memphis on Sunday.
