Women's Golf finishes third at Rhodes Collegiate Classic

TUNICA, Miss.—The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team placed third at the Rhodes Collegiate Classic at Cottonwoods Golf Course in Tunica, Miss., to wrap up the fall 2011 season.

BSC shot 657, four strokes behind No. 12 Illinois Wesleyan and 20 strokes behind tournament winner No. 5 Centre College.

Sophomore Ellen Chun was the Panthers' top finisher, shooting 161 to tie for seventh overall. Sophomore Kaleigh Toole tied for ninth with 162, and sophomore Rachelle Struthers was 13th with 166. Freshman Meredith Wollenman finished 16th with a 167, followed by senior Jennifer Commander at 19th with 168. Freshman Jesse Lawley placed 38th with 177.

The Panthers are back in action in February, hosting the Ann Rhoads Invitational, Feb. 19-20 at Oxmoor Valley Golf Course in Birmingham.
